The festival has different activities, where sports, tourism, and culture merge, thus attracting an audience never seen before in Bocas del Toro.

The Bocas Invitational Sports and Cultural Festival was successfully held from February 14th to February 20th in 2022, and again in 2023, from January 28th to February 5th on Isla Colón, in the province of Bocas del Toro. This world-class event featured over 70 international athletes and 20 local bodyboarders, incorporating sports, culture, and music. It played a significant role in promoting tourism in the country and the Bocas del Toro archipelago.

3RD EDITION

The 3rd edition of the Bocas Invitational will take place from March 4th to March 10th, 2024. We expect to host more than 70 international athletes and around 30 local bodyboarders.

This event aims to showcase the beauty and potential of Panama and the Bocas del Toro archipelago as a top-tier destination for surf enthusiasts from around the world, while also emphasizing the cultural richness of the region through the medium of sport, music, and culinary experiences.

How to Get There:

The most common way to reach Bocas del Toro is through the Bocas del Toro International Airport on Isla Colón. From Panama City, you can take a domestic flight to this airport. Another option is to take a bus from Panama City to the town of Almirante, and from there, a short boat ride will take you to Isla Colón.

The best time for surfing in Bocas del Toro is during the rainy season, which typically runs from December to March. During this time, the waves are more consistent and larger.

In addition to surfing, Bocas del Toro offers other activities such as diving, snorkeling, jungle hiking, wildlife watching, and relaxation on its beautiful beaches. It's a versatile destination for travelers seeking adventure and tranquility amidst the Caribbean nature.
